Where Dry Desert ends, Green Grass Grows!

Hope is the currency of the future. When you lose hope, you lose a precious asset and franchise on the future. Dreams do not vanish, regardless of the adversities that you face, so long as you are willing to hold on to your dreams and fane them with hope. Where dry dessert ends, green grass grows. The mess of today will be the message of tomorrow. The test of today will be tomorrow’s testimony. Disappointment is finite but hope has no boundary.

The Vocabulary of Hope
Talking defeat, despair or despondency simply sets you up for more defeat. To inspire hope use the words of hope. The words of hope are words like dreams, destiny, desire, strategy, passion, excitement, execution, admiration, anticipation, love, joy, life, movement, action and many more. Your wisdom is judged by the hope you carry in your heart, mind and words. There are really no hopeless situations but there are people who are hopelessly hopeless about their situations.

Dealers in hope
Every true leader is a dealer in hope. You must never deprive anyone of hope; it may be all that he has. The greatest practice of leadership is the practice of hope. As hopefulness becomes a habit it translates into a positive attitude. The positive attitude translates into positive actions. Positive actions steer people towards new destinies.

Building castles in the air is the work of hope. Building a foundation for those castles is the work of faith. Bringing the two into a concrete structure is the role of motivation. Hope is passion for the possible. Faith makes the impossible look possible. Your hope is an engine that pumps you to a greater future and makes you aspire for greatness. It fuels achievement and passion.

Hope in adversity
The adversity you go through is the seed for your greatness. Losing hope in adversity is losing a precious bounty. Your most difficult experiences are the crucibles that forge your character, internal power and resolve for greatness. Hope gives you the freedom to handle any difficulty and fashion it into a testimony that will bless and build others.

The fear of distance
People fear many things: height, flight, diving, insects or reptiles. The greatest fear that could hold you back is the fear of the distance between where you are and your dreams. I call this the journey of hope. The least you can do is to discover what to hope for. When desire or hope is crystallized it becomes a powerful dynamo for action. Hope allows you to live your dreams today and to shrink the future into today.

Pope John XXIII put it well when he said: “Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do.” In the space of greatness distance is a perspective never an absolute thing. Everything is done by hope.

The reality of hope
Hope is not a state of the world, the economy, or your wallet but a state of mind. Hope is not the same as the joy and comfort that things are going well and everyone is applauding you. Hope is not the obvious joy of investing in enterprises that are obviously heading for success, with all environmental indicators sound and solid. True hope is rather an ability to work for something because it is good and you believe in it. Hope is a conviction that if God is in it, he will see to it that it prospers.

Hope is the only bee that makes honey without a flower. It is the pillar that makes you hold forth when all about seems to be crumbling. Desperation is the mother of all drastic change and hope is the seat belt you wear as you navigate through the turbulence. Greatness is truly a journey of unyielding hope.

To your greatness,
