Take charge of your fears!
Perhaps the biggest limitation that humans face is fear. Fear freezes the flow of ideas, torments and disables. We just cannot afford to sacrifice the future on the altar of fear. Until we move beyond our fear we will never grow. Snakes shed when they grow too big for their skin, comparable to the way humans outgrow clothing. The old skin is shed when the new skin has fully formed underneath the surface of the old skin. I imagine that the first time a snake sheds off its skin it is afraid, it is taking a life threatening risk. In life there are a lot of things to make us afraid but there is a lot more in our faith for a future beckoning greatness to make us unafraid. We block our dreams and our prayers when we allow our fears to grow bigger than our faith.
Change involves risk
For snakes, skin shedding is not always without incident. It is possible for things to go wrong for the snake. For instance, if snakes shed their skin when the humidity in the air is too low, the skin can be too dry to shed. Portions of the old skin that remain attached can harbor parasites or a breeding ground for disease. If the tip of the tail fails to shed correctly, it can cut off the snake’s blood flow over time and cause the end portion of the tail to come off. This is why at times we see snakes or reptiles without tails. In life the risk of changing is much lower than the risk of failing to change.
The way to overcome fear is to be so wrapped up in big dreams of greatness that we forget to be afraid. Fear is usually the lengthened shadow of ignorance and the excuse that those who are lazy easily resort to. Anything that is worthwhile initially looks daunting, scary and impossible. Yet, just a few determined steps up the road the skies of doubt clear. Leading in a time of turbulence is difficult when one is a follower of fear.
Inevitable Change
Change is inevitable in life and in business. When we accept that change is a necessary part of our lives it becomes less traumatic. We can choose to embrace and hold on to our bruised and diseased skins of yesterday. We can also choose differently. We can choose to shed of the old skin - marred by prejudice, scarred by suspicion, diseased by polarization and embrace a new skin of hope. There may be no room anywhere close for us to turn, but the room for improvement is always there. Perhaps Maurice Freeman’s question points the way: “Who is more foolish, the child afraid of the dark or the man afraid of the light?”

No Winning Without Focus!
Without clear goals we are hopelessly lost. Goals are not mere campaign statements but things that we are committed to. Commitment is not just the vocabulary of greatness it is an absolute essential. Goals create a sense of focus. Nothing great can ever be achieved without an unyielding focus. Focus results in the concentration of power and dynamic action. We can never hope to win if we are not willing to focus on our goals and give them our all in terms of action, commitment and indeed sacrifice. To seek the luxury of harvest during the season of planting is self deception. Read more
This season shall soon pass
In these times, it is important to take a cue from the seasons. Hard times do come and go. Winters do come and they go. No season will last forever and no season ever escapes its turn. When reading the New Testament of the Bible, you keep coming across these words, “And it came to pass…” The only things that are permanent in life are God, principles and change. Your challenges today are not an indication that the world has come to an end. There is still a lot that can be done. Read more

Hope is not a Strategy
It is easy to sit and wait for our lives to change and for the situation to improve before we can do something. An empty and lazy hope is not a sustainable strategy for greatness. Indeed, at any given moment we are faced with many choices and strategic options. One of those options, the easiest of them all, is to do nothing. Just sitting and hoping for change is irresponsibility and a symptom of laziness. Read more
Preserve Your Momentum !
What is momentum? The dictionary definition of momentum is the power to increase or develop at an ever-growing pace or the speed or force of forward movement of an object. Preserving momentum is not easy but it is possible. Read more
“Do not give up!”
The challenges of life can be very frightening and exhausting. At times we are tempted to give up and give in. When we come accross a big boulder on our way at times we want to give up and turn back but we must never forget to turn it into a stepping stone. If we can not, we can at least circle our way around it. If this is too much for us we can tunnel our way through it. If this is not possible we can continue to explore other ways of moving the mountain. Read more
The Myths about Greatness!
Most of us desire greatness. However, a great majority has given up on even attempting anything great. The rigours of living can easily snuff out the fighting spirit from the battle-weary souls. The challenge is that we succumb to myths that hold us back and imprison us. Some of these myths have been passed on from generation to generation. Being imprisoned to a lie robs us of the greatness that we deserve. Being lied to is bad, but living a lie is worse. Here are a few myths that have held us back at one time or another that we need to challenge, face and unmask as we unleash our greatness.
